    Was mentioned earlier up the thread, but a few of the issues include:

    • Car never really dries, which sets up a great situation for inducing rust;
    • If the automatic wash isn't touchless, swirl marks and scratches from the brushes will erode the clearcoat;
    • Clearcoat itself may be worn off, exposing the paint to the elements;
    • Since this is taking place in the winter, road salt and traction abrasives will speed the finish's deterioration;
    • The information we have states the owner doesn't wax the vehicle, virtually guaranteeing the paint will erode.

    I can't see any advantages to washing that frequently, despite another contributor's frustration with volcanic cinder deposits on his vehicle.

    In my opinion (understand that I am not a professional, like Detailing By M), it would be much better to wash once a week, wax with quik wax monthly, and follow with quik detailer between washes.

      That much washing by any method is totally obsessive with a capital Anal - and in our group of detailing fanatics, that's saying a lot In a few months, your friend's paint will feel like sand paper and look in the sunlight like it was wiped with steel wool. Now, dealing with snow slush and salty, dirty roads up North is admittedly the worst case scenario, particularly for those of us with OCD tendencies, but one cannot expect to have a perfectly detailed show car in conditions like that. Wait for Spring.

      Anyway, mis3, You now have a duty to expose your friend to the magic of "quik" products to clean and wax the car, rinsing instead of washing for light dust, and blowing/flooding to dry, among many other tips found on this site
