Good grief Guz, can we settle out of court?

I neither care nor specifically argued that the two products are not of the same type of detailing dressings, but that they in fact and in practice are simply different and are best used in different ways. How and why do I say this? From using them both for over a year now. You would already have agreed with this if you had actually used them both.

See, I would not for a second put Ultimate Black on my leatherette dashboard, because it will likely ruin the material. Conversely, I would not waste my time spraying Ultimate Protectant on my exterior trim, because it probably won't last overnight or the first rain. However, as Michael Stoops wrote, and you quoted, "we then slightly altered the formulation [for UB]". You can verify this by simply smelling the two products and rubbing them in your fingers. UPr is milky, slippery, and smells like Gold Class Leather Conditioner. UB is oily, sticky, and smells like a tea olive soap. It's also possible the products I have in my possession, as liked above in blue, are further modified formulations since the 2012 comments, but otherwise, Michael's comments are consistent with what I've generally said.

In short, it doesn't matter how closely related these two products may be, the fact is the two bottles in my possession are completely different, and I would never confuse one with the other or use them in the same way.

I use UP for my interior, windshield cowl and door sills, all with excellent results.
Michael Stoops works for Meguiars and if he stated that the two were the same product, who are we to argue...

To the OP, use UP for your bumper. I was disappointed the first time I used UP but found out later that for it to work, the surface has to be very clean.
