I'm not a fan of coatings, they don't look as good as a wax, period.
as far as sealants go, I like them alot. M20 is my goto.

and an ISA wipe down isn't necessary and this is from the manufacture.

Different technologies. Coatings are more durable than sealants and offer protection of about 2 years (opti-coat), based on the various coating manufacturers. Sealants fall in between a coating and a carnauba wax. Sealants typically last about 4-6 months and a carnauba about 2-3 months (depending on the environment).

Ok so I guess my initial question is in regards to coatings. They sound too good to be true but seem to have their place now.

Is the sonax polymer thing a sealant. And can or should it go over the nxt

Sonax Polymer Net Shield is a spray sealant designed to be a stand alone product or a coating topper/booster.
I wouldn't put it on top of NXT, as NXT would effect the bonding process of Sonax PNS.

Sealants and coatings both need proper prep of the surface in order for optimum bonding.

was does as well, otherwise youd wax a dirty car!

I think you would be happy with ultimate wax and ultimate quik wax. Also throw ultimate quik detailer in the mix. Ultimate wax would last longer than NXT. NXT would respond well to ultimate quik wax and ultimate quik detailer to keep it looking good.

If you don't have the time to maintain your car like you should then maybe a coating would be best. Although you still want to use proper washing techniques to maintain it.

i have the regular red bottle quik detailer...not sure how much ult is different

i thought nxt 2 was there top wax....how is ultimate different

i did order the d3000/3001 package.....not sure why as my cars dont really have alot of swirls....oh well

Quick Detailer is an old product that is a very basic detailer spray that offers no protection.
Ultimate Detailer has Hydrophobic properties that adds very little protection but will repels water immensely.

Ultimate wax is the longest lasting wax currently offered. NXt 2.0 is also good but it is no longer the longest lasting. I use UQD and UQW as maintenance products to maintain the hard work of cleaning up the paint.

sounds good, ive started to just use the suds from the wash before drying or sometimes a water plus baby wash mix for claying.....i use the basic mothers clay, its worked real nice for me.

I tried to read all the replies but didn't find it covered. A couple of questions. First will a coating show swirls after applied? Such a clear coat will if not treated properly. Considering the original surface was swirl free before application of coating. Second, how do you remove a coating? Seems like everyone says it is like a second clear. If that is the case can you compound, polish, use a strong cleaner to get through it? I'm curious because I've seen cg show their second skin I'm wanting to try. Anyone try that yet? I hear it is brand new.
