How to remove wax streaks from flat/satin black painted stripes

I have some satin/flat black stripes that are painted on (not vinyl). There is some wax streaking and spotting in a small section on the hood. Looks a little bit shinier in those few areas. I've tried to remove with wax and tar remover but it has made little if any difference. Is there anything else I could try instead of a repaint? Should I maybe try to wax the entire stripe to make it all the same sheen?

you may try claying. you need to be very careful around any matte finish, as any abrasion can cause shine to come out. don't use a cleaner wax on matte (it sounds like that may be what you've done.) someone more experienced than i may be able to give you advice on how to match the sheen. try taping off that area if you are going to be using anything abrasive.

Ultimate Black comes to mind, too. I've found it works well on black painted trim that isn't black paint you'd be compounding and polishing, etc. It will stain the regular paint's wax layers, though, so be careful. It will last a good while and create a more wet, but not glossy, look.

You might have to re-paint.
You have porous paint and now those pours have wax in them.
A dressing might work, over time.
The oils in the dressing will help work out the wax, but you'll now have "oil" in that part so it will look different.

I know cg makes a matte car wash. suppose to clean without adding any gloss
