  • Ultimate Quick Detailer

    Noob question here
Can I use the Ultimate Quick Detailer after I wax the car with ultimate liquid wax just to bring out the shine?
Will there be any negative effects on the wax?

      Re: Ultimate Quick Detailer

The thing I notice about both Ultimate Liquid Wax (ULW), Ultimate Quik Wax (UQW), M20,M21, NXT, etc., and most other sealants, is that they are much glossier after around 12 hours, when the polymers have fully cross-linked or cured. I'd recommend that you not apply any liquid for at least 12 hours after application of a sealant as it could interfere with this curing process.

After the cross-linking is finished you can use anything on it. Personally, I like to apply Ultimate Quik Wax after my weekly wash to maintain the slickness and looks. If the car is just slightly dusty, I'll use Ultimate Quik Detailer instead of a wash and then apply the UQW. I like using the Detailer Line version of the UQW (D156) and UQD Mirror Glaze (M135) and buy them in bulk.

Yes, there will be negative effects on the wax. Detailer will clean off most of the QW you just applied, of course, and detailer is not as shinny as wax...so what's the point, exactly? Wax is always your last step with paint detailing, the basic purpose of which is to protect everything else you may have done, but also to put the last best shine on it.

I read that the ultimate detailer has a 12 hour curing time.
Will rain, moist ect. befor 12 hours have any effect on the result?

From the label: ...maximum polymer protection will be achieved after 12 hours curing time".

I think the magic word here is, maximum. You'll have lotza protection, but for the full thing it does take time.

            Make sense?
