Hello, I have a quick question. Is it necessary to wax using a product such as NXT after applying cleaner wax or can you clay, apply and remove cleaner wax and call it a day?

Re: Is it necessary to wax after applying cleaner wax?
It's not necessary. You would just have to apply a coat of wax down the line to maintain a level of protection.

Re: Is it necessary to wax after applying cleaner wax?
I guess it can depend on the cleaner wax but I am inclined to say that NXT will probably have the better durability in terms of protection.
If you are already willing to do the 2 steps with cleaner wax and NXT, personally, I would rather do UP and then NXT.
Now if you are pressed on time, do a cleaner wax and call it day and would follow up with NXT in about a month's time.2012 Acura CBP TL SH-AWD Tech

I was thinking, UP and Ultimate Liquid (since I just purchased a DAPS!), and then somewhere in between a Black wax application, and then some time after that another UP/ULW. The blackwax will be an intermediate not major step.
Tell me if that sounds crazy!

Personally, I would rather just do UP and ULW on my personal car as time is rarely an issue.
Now on friends' cars I occasionally detail and if I am pressed for time, no hesitation on using an AIO and calling it a day.2012 Acura CBP TL SH-AWD Tech

Do you also use IPA or some other stuff and then sealant?

Re: Is it necessary to wax after applying cleaner wax?
You won't need a IPA wipe down for couple of reasons.
1. You would want an IPA wipe down if you are doing paint correction and you want to inspect your work. Since you are not doing a paint correction, it would be unnecessary.
2. Meg's products works well together. Now if you were using another brand's LSP, there can be a potential issue but since you are using NXT, there really should be no problems.
Edit: Oops... let me make a little revision
Since I do not know what your goals are, you can do a IPA wipe down if you are doing paint corrections and want to inspect your work.2012 Acura CBP TL SH-AWD Tech

Re: Is it necessary to wax after applying cleaner wax?
Necessary, but not always. Depends on what your preferences are. Cleaner waxes will protect your paint, but not being a full, all-out wax, protection can be compromised. But some prefer to wax more often, so applying a dedicated LSP will not always be on their menu.

Re: Is it necessary to wax after applying cleaner wax?
Well, it is like any other coats of wax... 15 minutes is nice, 12 hours for best looks.
If I am using a cleaner/wax, it is usually because I am in a hurry, so closer to 15....2017 Subaru WRX Premium - WR Blue
