    I agree! Wax and black plastic are not a good combination, unless you want black plastic to look like powdery moldy grey plastic

    You will find nothing finer than Ultimate Black trim dressing, which is a bit like a saddle soap for plastic/rubber. Cleaning the same plastic surfaces after using UB does not require anything special, but I tend to use QD on the front end bits to get the bugs off. Since I tend to rinse the car more than wash it, I can get maybe a couple of months out of a UB application before I start to think the plastic looks dry again (compared to hours or days for something like Armour All). Washing more often with suds will reduce that time, of course.

    Another great option for plastic, in wheel wells for example, is tire foam.

      FWIW, I've been in this professional detailing field for over half a decade now. I'm not a backyard hack. Here is a review I posted of several Meg's products back in April of 2010.



      Like I said, don't knock it until you tried it.

        come to think of it I do use D156 on trim so I guess a synthetic wax will work.
        I guess I forgot I did that. I don't do it often but I do do it.
