Sorry for the beginner question but i am really excited about all the i formation here. When do you apply your first coat of Quick Detailer? Right after you wash/ wax your car or wait until its a bit dirty? What exactly does the Quick Detailer do?

Re: When to use Quick Detailer
Quick detailers are used to remove light dust, finger prints, smudges or bird droppings. It's use to keep your car looking freshly detailed. For example, you're at a car show and your car gets covered with a light layer of dust then you use a quick detailer to remove it. A lot of people use QD's as drying aid but with the release of Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Wax, I would suggest using this instead.2011 Car Crazy Showcase SEMA Team

Re: When to use Quick Detailer
Yep, I usually do a quick dusting and then use Gold Class QD (matching my choice of wax) to remove bug splats and to clean the paint. QD is a great finishing product, but every few times I'll finish that off with GC Quik Wax to boost the wax protection back up. The QW can build up residue, though, and it's easy to wipe holograms in the residue layer, so I've been rinsing more and blowing dry. All of this means I don't have to "wash" the car very often, and it's been over three months since my full correction yet I could keep going indefinitely. Re: When to use Quick Detailer
I use Meguiars Final Inspection (M34) after I wash my car, but that's mostly to remove water spots and streaks. Puts a nice gloss on the paint. Quick detail sprays were designed to clean lightly dusty surfaces but I wash my car twice a week instead using a variation of Garry Dean's Wash Method

Re: When to use Quick Detailer
You know, I own UQD and am still afraid to actually use it lol. I am so from the older school of washing, which I do at least once a week. Plus from the videos I have seen you have to spray it all over the panel liberally... how can that not possibly get on to the plastic surfaces? (Especially textured plastic surfaces) I am sure I am being too cautious but I worry that over time it will affect the plastic. **Way Off Topic** How do you people start new paragraphs????I Never Use Signatures.

Re: When to use Quick Detailer
UQD won't hurt plastic trim. In fact, I find it slightly enhances them.
There you go - new paragraph!Originally posted by BluelineI own a silver vehicle and a black vehicle owns me. The black one demands attention, washing, detailing, waxing and an occasional dinner out at a nice restaurant. The silver one demands nothing and it looks just fine. I think the black vehicle is taking advantage of me, and the silver car is more my style. We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

Re: When to use Quick Detailer
Right, just spray a fine mist and wipe with an MF. I use QD on my wheels with a separate wheel towel, on some of the black plastic trim as I'm doing the paint, and even on the interior glass, with a quick wipe of the semi-damp MF to pick up dust off the dash, for example. GC QD smells good, too, and with other treatments of GC leather conditioner and/or Ultimate Protectant, the inside generally smells clean and new. Oh, and on those trim pieces, I do them with Ultimate Black, another magic product, which bonds with plastic in a such a way that you can clean them with QD and it only helps.

That's what allowed me to hit ENTER for a line break (as it shouldHope it works out well...

Re: When to use Quick Detailer
Okay, okay you convinced me, I shall use the bottle the next time the car is slightly dirty lol.
Actually, I figured out how to make new paragraphs last night when going through all the settings.
It was just as you pointed out Stephan. In addition to making that change I also changed a few other settings unrelated to the paragraph issue.
Thank you though.I Never Use Signatures.

You mean Explorer now won't do line breaks in text boxes by default? Yet another reason to avoid the M$ la-la land of crash monkeys and planned obsolescence. Re: When to use Quick Detailer
I use quick detailer as my clay lube. I use final inspection for priming my DA pads. I use ultimate quick detailer every other day to wipe down the car when it is not raining (It has been for almost two weeks and my car needs a serious wash). After a wash I use ultimate quick wax. Now all of this is going on top of Ultimate liquid wax. Not sure if you use the same process on top of NXT wax 2.0.
