Is ultimate car wash and wax same as waxing ? or anywhere close to waxing your car since it does have some wax in it?

I would like to know also. I currently use GC , is wash and wax just as good?

No, it is not the same as a proper waxing. A proper liquid/paste wax would be most protective, then a spray type wax, then the wash and waxes.

Yeah, it's more just for a boost to your coat of traditional wax...

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

So it is still some kind of protection rather than nothing at all ? not expecting to have high end protection as it is just a civic lol

If you have followed proper detailing from step 1 to 5 per Meguiar's suggestion, then you should have waxed your car during step 4. However, local situation is so different and you may need to wash your car more often. Wax is a protection layer with thickness just as thin as few micrometer. It will get thinner and no longer uniform with time especially door panel, they are vertical. So, by using Ultimate wash and wax, the polymer properties inside actually helps to add maybe nanometer of layer.

all Meguiar's car wash, GC, NXT and this Ultimate W&W, they will not strip away existing wax layer, unlike detergent, everything GONE.

                Great explaination!

What i take away from that is to use W&W if i know it will be a long time between waxes.

My followup question is; will there be a difference in the way the car looks or can i just buy W&W and call it a day? Because GC works really well.

Really, it is just as easy to use the Gold Class, and the spray wax while drying, and come out further ahead.

This is the best way to properly wash and wax the car if you're really tight on time or don't want to properly wax your car with a liquid or paste wax. Our Ultimate Wash & Wax uses a dispersed wax where as many other similar products use a solublized wax. What this means is that our UW&W will actually leave something behind when you're done, but that still isn't enough to give the level of protection most of us want. It's really intended more for people keeping their car at a very high level and looking for something to extend their existing wax protection and gloss.

Using Gold Class or even Deep Crystal Car Wash and then spraying Ultimate Quik Wax on each panel as you dry it will give you much better, and much longer lasting, protection than UW&W or similar. And, since you obviously have to dry the car anyway, this process doesn't add any time to the process. And UQW is actually an extremely durable spray wax.

In reality, it's better than those. But it's still not a substitute for a proper liquid or paste application.

This is interesting but I'd expect the drying towel to become water saturated from the wet car and mess up the dispersion of UQW by diluting it with the water? Ditto the flip and wipe step of UQW. It seems to me that it would get soaked after a couple flips?

I use two towels.. one for the main dying, one for final wipe plus UQW.
