Probably not. But if your really particular you might.
The Black Wax was designed for polishing and waxing black paint which is what a black paint needs, polish.
I've use alot of different waxes and the differences are slight.
When I used Black Wax it took out wool pad buffer marks which impressed me and saved me a step.
So I'd recommend Black Wax over others because it was designed for black paint and did an awesome job for me.

If you use a separate cleaner/polish with a lot of oils, and wax, probably not.

But it will be better than just a coat of Nxt.

I used black wax for the first time recently. Can;t beat the price and the results speak for themselves.
