When using m205 with a yellow pad and a da on speed setting 5 I get fine swirls after I was the vehicle. Initially they are there and just can't be seen because of the gloss but after a wash it is obvious. Do I need to re-compound the vehicle or can I try 205 again with a black pad at the same setting since it still has some abrasives in it?? Do you think that the yellow pad may be too abrasive or is it the yellow pad may be dirty. I clean it before use in a washing machine and then delicate dry with nothing else else in the dryer??

Re: m205
I use the yellow pad with compounds (105/UC ) and the finishing pads with polishes ( 205 and UP ) . When compounding with a D/A/orbital, I use speed setting of 5 and for polishes a speed setting of 3. The speed and pad selection give you the cutting power. You should always start by doing a 2' x 2' test area to check the selection of pad and product are achieving the look you are after. Doing a test area will allow you to use the best combo of pad and product, you want to use the mildest combo to get the results you want.BMW ZSCCA Area Rep SoCal

Re: m205
On my 2003 black Honda Accord, I used M105 with a yellow Lake Country pad to get the swirls out. No more swirls. Then I follow up with M205 with a LC black finishing pad. You might be trying to work to big of a area at one time. That was a mistake I made the first time I detailed my car. No more than a 2 x 2 area and remove the 105 before it dries, make sure you keep the pad clean. another mistake I used to make.

The black one demands attention, washing, detailing, waxing and an occasional dinner out at a nice restaurant. The silver one demands nothing and it looks just fine. I think the black vehicle is taking advantage of me, and the silver car is more my style. We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

Re: m205
I recommend trying a test spot and verifying your results there. We can suggest combinations until we are blue in the face, but in the end you will need to test things out and find what works on your specific vehicle as no two are identical.
I would start with a finishing pad and M205 and see if that works. If it doesn't seem to do anything then you can work your way up to something more aggressive and determine if you are either not fully removing the swirls that were already there, or if the the polishing pad is introducing something new.
