    Re: Cleaning microfibre rags

I never understood the point of a black microfiber.......

    Sexy?

    yes

    Pointless

    Absolutely

How can your tell on a black mf when to flip the rag? How can you tell if you picked up some dirt missed from your wash? Black mf towels just seem like a swirl mark or a scratch waiting to happen.

      Re: Cleaning microfibre rags

i know autogeek sells a microfiber towel cleaner powder instead of using detergent. i know alot of detergents contain some sort of fabric softener in them already which is bad for the fibers. i havent tried the above stated cleaner yet but if i do il post it up

I have used the Micro -Restore the last few month's and definitely am not impressed. I have a new top load HE washer and trying 1/2 oz., 1 oz., 1.5 oz. and even 2 oz. and the MF's come out feeling like 3000 grit sand paper. I am most likely going back to my HE laundry detergant with no softeners which make the MF's feel and work the way they should. I have tried the M-R on Meg's, Walmart and Cobra MF's and get the same results with all 3 brands.

          Glad it's working for you.

I am using Pinnacle's version of microfiber cleaner and I use it with every load of micros and have no problem with mine. They come out clean and dont loose their softness as if I was using just regular tide.

Which HE detergents contain no softners or scents? It seems like they all do where I shop/

We use Tide HE here at work - seems to work just fine. It does seem that there is a wide variety of Tide HE options, though, so we always end up double and triple checking labels before we check out.
