Hello everyone, I recently purchased a new car and thought I'd better wax it rather than pay the dealer for paint protection. So I bought the new car kit which included the car wash, tyre shine, ultimate liquid wax and all the microfibre cloths etc. so I have washed the car and used the liquid wax which worked out excellent, no streaking and the end result beautiful. Now I need to clean the microfibre Cloths, shammy, applicators, washing mitts and othe rags I have used. I've done some research and some say to put it through the washing machine others say to soak. What is everyone's opinion?

Re: Cleaning microfibre rags
Yes.
Edit: If you used the tire shine with any of the microfiber, wash that alone. The endurance tire gel is not good for paint.
For future reference, If you ever use a polish/cleaner, wash those separate from your washing or waxing cloths.

Re: Cleaning microfibre rags
Hi, i ended up hand washing the microfiber rags using napi san vanish oxi action powder mixed with hot water, left to sit for half an hour then rinced. The end result was a nice clean rag. Do you think the napisan would damage the fibers?

Re: Cleaning microfibre rags
My son and I just waxed his new car with Ultimate liquid wax. When removing the wax, we used a combination of two new gold colored Meguiars miocrofibers, and the black microfiber that came in the kit. Then we threw them in the front load washer on gentle/cool with All free and clear soap. Opened the door at the end of wash cycle - 1 black microfiber, and 2 medium grey microfibers. Apparently the Ultimate Liquid Wax microfiber will bleed color in the wash. No, we normally don't mix dark and light clothing, but we have previously done many different colors of microfiber towels in the same load without problems.

Re: Cleaning microfibre rags
I own a company and we go thru towels like crazy. I wish they had a product that cleaned them REAL good. Can't do windows with old them after they have been washed.San Diego Car Detailing

Re: Cleaning microfibre rags
I've never experienced any issues just throwing them all in the wash. But then again I never get them too dirty by applying a product directly with the microfiber. If you want, you could soak them in a bucket of warm water and dawn (or APC) and let some of the gunk on them break down. Give them a quick rinse then throw them in the washing machine. They should be pretty clean by the time they go in, so they should come out looking new. Dry on low or hang dry.

Re: Cleaning microfibre rags
I washed some really dirty towels and an old MF wash mitt last night (the wash mitt was an older one I used to clean my wheels and the towels had black streaks from cleaning off dirt with Last Touch from an earlier wipedown). Because everything looked so bad, I threw the the towels and mitt into my rinse bucket and added an ounce or two of APC plus. I scrubbed both towels and mitt against the grit guard and immediately noticed improvement in the items and how black the rinse water had become (I was done washing the car at this point). Threw everything into the washer and was pleasantly surprised how well everything turned out. The towels look close to new and the mitt came out a bit gray looking, but it was gray looking before the scrub down anyway.

After wiping down my Impreza recently with UWWA and a dozen or so MFs, i sprayed each one with Super Degreaser (10:1) before washing in a solution of (1oz/4 gallons water) Micro Restore Detergent, the MFs all looked near new"STRIFE" aka Phil
