    Re: Wheel Protectant

I use the ArmorAll Wheel Potectant and it was easy to apply, performs well, and lasts for 4-6 weeks. It is actually one of two non-Meguiar's product in my arsenal (the other is RainX).

I usually use NXT2.0 on my wheels. Maybe not as cheap as the cleaner, but its sooo easy to use, lasts longer and looks great. These PF pads will dust up still, but otherwise they stay pretty clean and are easy to wash when needed. Love the performance of these brakes but really miss the lack of dust my '96 produced with what ever brand pads it had.

        Re: Wheel Protectant

I tried the wheel protectant 3 times. I totally cleaned and dried the wheels, sprayed it on and left it for almost 24 hours, and the brake dust turned into a sticky mess the following week. I gave my can away, and now I just wax my wheels with collinite 845.

I stopped using the Quik Wheel Detailer after realizing the Glass Cleaner Concentrate at 10:1 performs just about the same, although the QWD may have something in it to repel brake dust.

As for waxing/sealing the wheels. I usally just use some A12 Cleaner Wax or some M66. Usually apply it with a cotton towel and work it in pretty well. I only do this on extensive details and not really 6-8 hr ones.

            Hey Nick,

I find QWD SO much more slick/slippery than the glass cleaner that the brake dust just rinses away, IME. I know you do a lot of detailing but your post really surprised me. My experience is just so different, I felt compelled to ask how this is so?

I also seal wheels with M21, BTW. I find the slickness of QWD is so significant that I use it regularly. QWD is much slicker that the M21, IME.
