I got a workforce halogen spotlight with 1 million candle power would that be good for finding swirls scratches etc or should I return it and get a xenon light ? I can't get the brinkman light in my area as far as I know

Re: Is this a good Light for finding defects ?
A lot of guys use halogen spots for detailing work - they flood the area with light and will reveal all sorts of below surface defects on close inspection. They do tend to generate a lot of heat though!Michael Stoops

Re: Is this a good Light for finding defects ?
Haven't tried something like that, but I'm guessing it's way to bright.
The idea is to highlight defects. If the light's too bright or has a poor pattern you end up washing out your view rather than accenting it.
But you don't know unless you try it.

Re: Is this a good Light for finding defects ?
I have found that Brinkmanns are over-rated for finding swirls, for the same reasons mentioned by the other pc.
They provide too much light, and the scratch you thought you saw under normal neons often gets drowned out and becomes invisible...
*EDIT* I'm referring to the dual-xenon Brinkmann.Originally posted by BluelineI own a silver vehicle and a black vehicle owns me. The black one demands attention, washing, detailing, waxing and an occasional dinner out at a nice restaurant. The silver one demands nothing and it looks just fine. I think the black vehicle is taking advantage of me, and the silver car is more my style. We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

It's not the dual xenon model unfortunately, one xenon bulb and one led.
