I bought a car brand new, I had to clay it before I did anything to it being it really needed it, your paint must be very smooth and clean to get great results with any wax on the market, most important step IMO.
Just because it's new doesn't mean it perfect, fact is, most are not
Most new cars need to be clayed, they travel long distance before they arrive to the dealership.
I'd wash it again , clay, UP and then UW. (I love UW, best IMO
You might want to use a pure polish to get best results.
If the paint isn't smooth then your shine won't last very long.

I'm not a pro, but here's my opinion.
I wash weekly with ultimate wash and wax. Drying is done with a leaf blower. Every other time I finish off with UQW (or when I'm not about to have a heat stroke!). During the week I remove bugs or bird poop ASAP. If some street goop gets on, I'll clay the area and re-wax (tech wax).

I am sure many others will chime in before me , but The item you mention is a DA Polisher ( Dual Action) Meguiars brand G110V2 .
I jumped in here because I am new to the forum and almost in the same situation as you . I have a 2 month old 2011 Murano Black color.
I noticed swirls when I left the dealer, and began a mission to learn all I could. I currently have a G110V2 on order and can't wait to get it . I am hoping for the type of results you are , I have read so much lately , it seems this will be the right way to go.

Oh ok. Saw the meguiars video and he did by hand. I am always afraid that an electric polisher would leave swirl marks. Let me thank you for taking your time with me to explain things. Ill have to do some more reading on this subject. You've been great.

NP,,And DA will not leave you any swirls. I was afraid first time also.

This forum has been a wealth of info for me.
For 20 years I drove a company car , so I never really got into personally detailing.
I now have a new car of my own and , flipped out when I left the dealship and pulled the Murano into my garage , the lighting in the garage showed every imperfection in the paint , I could not believe it. I have now come to understand it is not uncommon. Anyway, They also have video's of the DA polisher in action if you look around.
Like you , I want that "better than show room " finish on my brand new car.

Shameful it is accepted practice to damage a 40K car before you turn it over to your customer .

It can be done by hand, I've done many, just so much work is involved.
As said, a DA will not leave swirls, that's why we love them so much.
Having the DA is just a small part in getting perfect results.
You need the right pads to go along with it and the right products and the know how and be ready to spend many hours in some cases.
