I bought a car brand new, I had to clay it before I did anything to it being it really needed it, your paint must be very smooth and clean to get great results with any wax on the market, most important step IMO.
Just because it's new doesn't mean it perfect, fact is, most are not
Most new cars need to be clayed, they travel long distance before they arrive to the dealership.
I'd wash it again , clay, UP and then UW. (I love UW, best IMO
You might want to use a pure polish to get best results.
If the paint isn't smooth then your shine won't last very long.
