You are correct, those of the two issues. I'm removing the deep swirls/scratches, but I'm leaving behind a trail of haze. Nothing crazy, but I'd like to get it right this time.

I had a heck of a time with hazing on my S2K when using my Flex. There is just something about the way the Flex works that my paint doesn't like. I finally had to switch to the G110 to finally remove the hazing. As I said, I've had good luck using M205 with a polishing pad at speed 5 applying normal pressure, but that's just my car. I do want to eventually get myself a bottle of Menz PO85RD, but I haven't felt the compulsion to spend the extra dough, since the M205 seems to be working for me. Good luck!

Often, a Meguiars product will remove the swirls and leave the paint perfect.

Sometimes, the agressive product will leave marring.

You may have to remove the swirls, deeper scratches first, and leave marring behind. Then tackle the marring.

I recall the LC black pad being very mild... so if that helps, it is a good sign that things can be fixed. It is possible that some kind of cleaner wax may be needed to really make things perfect, but some more experimentation may be needed.

On some very delicate paints we're seeing that very light marring after even the final polishing step. A good cleaner wax like ColorX can do wonders after that, and you can still apply NXT, Gold Class, Ultimate Wax etc on top of it.

Delicate paint can be a real challenge, and a very mild approach to the final step is often key.

Michael, I could kiss you. I ran over a 2x2 test section a moment ago, using the best technique I could get out of my body. Slow, 2 passes, with the M105 on a Lake Country white pad. Split the test section in half and followed up with Color X on a Meguiar's W9006 finish pad. I'm shocked at the results. I'm a believer in soft paint.

While not 100%, this is very encouraging.

I'm not playing any tricks with this photo, the tape line you see is the M105 vs M105 + Color X.
