Black & Decker KP600 is an orbital buffer. Only good for polishing and waxing, nothing else, no paint correction ability at all. If you put pressure on your hand applicator with a compound you're gonna remove more paint than with this polisher.

It has a backing plate build in and you can't remove it. It doesn't use buffing pads, only bonnets which go over the backing plate.

We lead you the right way, we don't want you to get frustrated with a polisher which doesn't help much.
        Hi greg,
I have borrowed a friend's KP600 unit like this and was wondering:
What do you mean you'll remove more paint if you apply more pressure with this unit? Because its just an orbital polisher rather than a DA one?
Also, I don't really get why bonnets over a backing plate is worse off than a buffing pad. Buffing pad also has some sort of hard backing plate doesn't it?
        Cheers
