  • Using Black & Decker KP600 for detailing my car???

    Hi guys,

Due to limited budget I search some polisher which are not too expensive, but I don't know whether this product can solve my problem.
Black & Decker KP600 maybe you know this polisher, my questions are:
    1. will Black & Decker KP600 can be used for beginner like me?
    2. can Meguiar's M80 be aplied on this Black & Decker KP600?
    3. can this Black & Decker KP600 solved my problem? (you can see the detail problem in this link http://meguiarsonline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=47876 )
If you had some information about using this Black & Decker KP600, don't be hesitate to tell me, okay.
Thanks in advance guy for the info.

    Best regards,
    Jefri Lay

A tool like that will be able to spread waxes, polishes, but wont have the power to really remove swirls n scratches, it might remove light swirls... but that is about it

i agree..i think it's best to buy a good D/A like meguiars or PC..it's pricier but you won't regret it..

I agree with the guys. This machine is only good for polishing and waxing but not defect removal.

You need a proper DA polisher for that with adjustable speed.

Is Kestrel DAS-6 available in your country? I know it's a very popular tool in UK, Australia and New Zealand.

Based on the reviews Kestrel DAS-6 can handle all these paint correction jobs. I've never personally used one.

It's a full size DA polisher with adjustable speed. It has universal 5/16" thread to work with all backing plates (including Meguiar's W67DA and W68DA).

                Jefri,

Black & Decker KP600 is an orbital buffer. Only good for polishing and waxing, nothing else, no paint correction ability at all. If you put pressure on your hand applicator with a compound you're gonna remove more paint than with this polisher.

It has a backing plate build in and you can't remove it. It doesn't use buffing pads, only bonnets which go over the backing plate.

We lead you the right way, we don't want you to get frustrated with a polisher which doesn't help much.

Jefri, if you have budget concerns and product availability issues and you can get your hands on the Kestrel unit, by all means do so. While it appears to be a knock off of the Griot's tool, all indications are that it gets the job done very well.

                          Hi guys,
I'd like to buy kestrel DAS-6, but it seemed that the online store who has this product can not ship to indonesia, anyone know the online store that can send this machine to Indonesia? I've search some online store in Indonesia too but it seemed they don't have kestrel on their store.
                          Thanks guys.

                            Jefri,

I sent a message to KC, he's in Kuala Lumpur but he knows Asian detail market like nobody else and he's a great detailer & super nice person.
Hopefully he'll chime in and give you some advices.

I couldn't find any good deals for you by going to Google.

Thank you Greg for your attention. I myself still searching DAS 6. Maybe I'll buy from Ben (www.carnaubawaxshop.co.uk). He said he can send it to Indonesia. But if there is another alternative which is better.... why not???
