First off...MY FIRST POST! WOOHOO!
I've been on quite a few forums over the years, and this is definitely one of the most mature ones yet. During my lurking on this forum, the majority of the posts are well written, detailed, and backed by experience. So THANK YOU for all I've learned. But now, I need some more knowledge...
Obviously, like most on this forum, I love the ability to experiment with different combinations of wax/polishes(by hand), but I would very much like something to safely remove old wax. Now I know that this question has been answered before, but it seemed that those threads were old and written prior to the introduction and success of SwirlX. Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner seems to have been discontinued. It can still be found though Meguiars and other sites though.
My first question is whether or not SwirlX can be used as a "cleaner" comparable to DC1 or should I just buy DC1? I've read in other threads where SwirlX was recommended for this purpose. I want something that simply removes the old wax. I don't really need added oils since I'm using #7 topped with #26. I already have a bottle of SwirlX and am curious if I should plop down the few bucks for DC1 if it will be more advantageous to use SwirlX. Is DC1 less "abrasive" than SwirlX? I'm using it on a Black Magic Pearl 2008 GTI in which the paint if in VERY good condition(practically new) with minimal swirl. I'll also be performing the work by hand. That is until I purchase my Meguiars DA polisher
All recommendations and thoughts are welcomed.
