Re: New Meguiar's user and confused by which product

Ok that didn't go out right. Lemme try again. Sry, first time posting img in this forum.

Was shocked at how clear the reflection of the Toyota Camry. It was pretty old and not maintained, but after a wash, clayed and waxed. The Camry appearance already improved by a mile. Though I think I'll need to remove the holograms and swirls from the car to see a bigger difference.

Hmm, somehow the copy image link from the meguiar gallery didn't work properly for me. Kept getting the ? image instead, so I had to resort to using my dropbox account.

Overall, I am pretty darn happy with the look. Now looking at videos on how to improve my technique even more.

    Meguiar rocks!

The Camry looks great. Now you've got a hot wheel (or wheel hot ).

You mentioned that your next step will be to deal with swirls. SwirlX or Ultimate Compound would do the job. Test spot should confirm which one works better.

Even a little Cleaner/Wax or ColorX before the wax will help some.

            3. ColorX
            4. Wax - Nxt 2.0, etc

To tackle the swirls/defects, you will need to look at the SwirlX/UC mentioned above.
That is great advice when you need to wax. When you don't need to wax; wash, then follow with Ultimate Quick Wax (this is VERY easy to apply) and you will be amazed.

Re: New Meguiar's user and confused by which product

Thanks for the tip, I'm wondering what if I apply Meguiar polish instead of SwirlX, ColorX or Ultimate Compound? Cause I'm thinking of getting Ultimate Polish.

Also here are the products I use to clean and wax my car so far.

I'm also planning to get Ultimate Quick Wax. I heard the step is, apply UQD first and then UQW?

              A few more questions:
              1. Can I apply Ultimate Polish by hand, any special cloth to use?
              2. Do Ultimate Polish stain trim, rubber or plastics?
              3. Oh and I heard its safe to apply UQD on windscreen (cause some ppl want the hydrophobic thing to be on their windscreen too), how bout UQW? Is it safe too?
              4. Which tire product should I pick? I'm confused by gels, spray and aerosol. I'm looking for one that last long and won't leave slippery residue on the floor. Also do I need to do any pre-step before applying it?

              Thanks!

The Ultimate Polish will be a milder cleaner than SwirlX. Just a matter of what level of cleaning you may want.

UQW wants a clean surface. Usually you would wash the car, then use UQW. But you could remove light dust with a QD/UQD spray, then apply UQW.

                A few more questions:
                1. Can I apply Ultimate Polish by hand, any special cloth to use?

Yes, by hand is good. Just a smooth foam applicator will be good.

                2. Do Ultimate Polish stain trim, rubber or plastics?

Dont know, probably want to keep it off either way.

Yes, it is safe. Just a matter of if you like it or not.

I like to clean my tires with APC, then use a dressing if I want to. I think the cleanest would be to use a trigger spray, spraying onto an applicator. Let it sit for a few minutes, then come back and blot off any excess with an old terrt towel.

                Thanks!
