  • learned a lesson today.

i normally use colonite fleetwax on my boat and truck. its a cleaner wax that holds up very well which removes any stains or spots i may miss.
well i washed the wifes brand new car today, dark blue, took it for a spin, dried it off with cotton diapers for the most part.went back out after lunch and covered the car in the yellow gold carnuba wax,new and improved.let it dry to a haze, about 45 minutes. proceeded to wipe off with diapers.noticed it did not remove water spots..
wound up washing the car again, completely drying the car to make sure no water spots then re waxed the car.
car looks good, but man,my arms are tired.
obviously it was the first time i used it.goes on and off easy with good results.
i was just used to the colonite that removes stains and spots when using it.

Yeah. GC+ won't remove very much unless the water spots are really fresh and you rub with some passion behind the pad. But, at this point, anything will do that.

This is my favorite wax right now. I like to put on 2 coats and the looks dripping.

Gold Class Plus is supposed to be used more so as a final step of protection, not really as a cleaner wax. Typically cleaner waxes such as Meguiar's Cleaner Wax (the red consumer one) will remove light and new water spots, and provide some protection as well. However, as with any cleaner wax, the protection isn't necessarily quite as good as using a dedicated wax such as Gold Class Plus.

I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.

      I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
      Remove swirls my friends.
