I’ve been lurking here for quite some time, searching old threads, doing the “cut and paste” in order to assemble my own guide to Meguiars products. My thanks to the moderators and contributors here, as this forum is truly a wealth of information. I’ve been a fan of #7 for over 30 years, back when it was labeled “Sealer and Reseal Glaze”, and have yet to be able to find another product that matches the gloss quality. My current toy is an “87 El Camino, featuring the original deteriorating lacquer paint. It receives a yearly treatment of a clay job, followed by M07, topped with NXT, then M26 or Collinite 845, which gives it a helluva shine considering the poor paint condition. My question concerns maintenance of the finish thru the year. Normally, I just use spray detailer or Griot’s spray wax thru the year, and an occasional topping with M26. I’ve read that M07 can be applied over the wax as a gloss refresher just before a show or cruise. When I attempt to do that step, I still pick up a considerable amount of color on the pad. Is there any solvent content in #7 that compromises the wax/sealant film? I’d hate to think that the multiple layers of wax and/or sealant I’ve applied are being wiped away. Thanks in advance for your comments.
