Hello, I was wondering if for personal car detailing is there a need for swirlx, scratchx and ultimate compound?

I'd get some clay, light polishing compound and a wax of you're choice.

Ok im looking at getting these products

NXT Gen Wash
Smooth Surface Clay Kit
Deep Crystal Polish
NXT Gen Wax
Ultimate Quik Detail
Natural Shine Protectant
Hot Shine Tire Foam
All Wheel Cleaner
NXT Gen Glass Cleaner

If I can modify that at all to save some $$ that would be best, but that is what I plan on getting tomorrow.

You don't really need the DC polish. You will need some MF's to go with the Ultimate Quik Detail, which you can get over the counter (any brand will suffice).

Hey, if you are buying a new car then I recommend:

Meguiars Smooth Surface Clay Kit
SwirlX
NXT 2.0 Wax

Then maintain by washing it:
Ultimate Wash/Wax
Microfiber Mitts
2 buckets

Ultimate Quik Detailer should then be used after a washing.

Do you wax the glass on the car? I have in the past and have found it leaves a slight film on the glass. Probably a rookie mistake though...
