Any way you could get a larger image up?

Did you cause this or are you asking what causes this?

It looks like the paint is filled with swirls, some minor scratches, and some rather larger scratches.

I can't tell you how it happened, as I was not there when it happened, and neither can anyone else on here. What we can tell you is how to fix it.

Let us know what your specific question is.

I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.

      I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.

Re: how did this happen? what cause this?

Ok, so I just talked with nabisco shine for a while and it is very hard to tell based off of just this picture. He is going to get up some better pictures tomorrow.

After talking with him, here is my theory on the spots that look funny (the one on the far right and the one directly left of the light reflection):

Since the car was fairly beat up, I think that this may have been some touch up paint or touch up clear that blended in before because the car was in a faded condition. The oils of the UC restored some color to the paint and made the touch up area stand out because it was probably done poorly.

We can asses this situation better tomorrow once he gets some better pictures up.

OK, here's the image that Jay sent over.

It could be a bit of touch up, but it also looks like it might be some sort of etching or staining in the paint.

Jay, can you feel this at all, either with your fingertips or fingernail? Can you tell if it's above or below the surface?

Above is the close up of the spot.

Jay, have to talked to the customer about this? The shape of the two spots is so similar and they're almost mirror images of each other. Has he attempted any spot repair here, or had someone else do it?

What are you looking to accomplish here overall? You said these spots were not there a week ago and only showed up after you worked on the paint? Is that right?

On what appears to be a relatively large, flat surface it seems highly doubtful that a DA buffer could do such a thing. It's really tough to make a square mark with a round pad spinning in circles - even random circles.
