If your paint is single stage, it would probably be a good idea.

If it is clearcoat, and you use SwirlX, probably not needed.

I did a detail on a 99 Taffeta White Accord, and I used Orange CCS and UC first. I knew that swirlX wasn't going to get me what I wanted. And if you have a 95 Civic, over years of improper wash technique and 24/7 weather elements, UC sounds like the right product to go with here.

okay i think ill just get uc and go with that. Whats the difference between polishes and glazes/sealants?

Different companies use different terms.

With Meguiars:

Polish / Glaze = Oils to moisturize the paint, make it look good ,etc.

Wax/Sealant = Protective and sacrificial barrier against the elements, and seals in any polishing oils, etc.
