Hey guys, here's how I dry my Lake Country pads...with an old CB antenna over the wash tub in the laundry room.

Mike, glad you bumped this back up. I finally tried the 3M 90 strength contact adhesive for regluing the velcro back on one of my pads. So far it seems to work pretty well. The only issue is a can of the contact adhesive is about $15 at Home depot, but you could glue a ton of them with it.

The Meguiars pads have been very durable. The only one I lost was when Gibson, my dog, ate part of one. Of course it was a brand new one!

The only other problem is me. I keep procrastinating on th clean-up process. I have several that need to be cleaned. But I have some brand new ones that I will probably use first before I do any cleaning.

You can wash the yellow and maroon pads with no problem.

I have pads that are a year old and have been machine washed almost weekly, a good 40- 45 times.

The tan ones do lose their backing though.

From what I know you shouldn't put the pads in the washing machine. And to just use same products per pad and use a soft bristle brush to get the loose stuff off. And if you have to..hand wash carefully.

I wash my pads in a mini washer. If you really saw how gentle a washer is, I think most people would have no justification to say that the washer is too rough.

Maybe during the Spin Cycle, it's rough, but that's without any water, so I can't possibly see how washing in a washer is any more hard on the pads than wringing and squeezing pads by hand.

I did a write up on a Wonder Washer that I use for cleaning my pads. It works great.

The washing process was gentle. It cycles in one direction for 10 seconds, then stops, and reverses for another 10 seconds.

You can do 6 to 10 pads every 15 minutes.

I don't have a PC so I've never experienced what some of you are experiencing with the Meguiar's pads. I will say, however, that when I finished using the 3.5" pads for my Lake Country polishing pal (also with velcro backing), I simply washed mine in a tub with dawn detergent soap.

Simply fill the tub with warm water, add some dawn directly to each pad, immerse in the water and squeeze the pad to remove the wax/polish/detailing product. Dump the water and repeat until your satisfied with the results. Then do the same but without soap for the rinsing.

I wouldn't machine wash these pads. Just my $0.02.

Just my personal experience on washing pads,
I have machine washed some and it seemed to harsh on them as the backing portion seemed to lose it's ability to stick to the backing plates. I have also had the backing come lose from using the washing machine.
Now washing them in the sink with Dawn seems to work perfect. After letting them soak in warm/hot water for 15 minutes, I agitate them and squeeze them out well. I then fill the sink with clear cool water and rinse, usually twice. On the last rinse I add some white vinegar to the water, then if I have time, I put them on the rotary and spin off the excess water. To dry, I stand them up in a bucket on the grit guards so they will drain and dry.

I use a strong batch of APC and warm water to clean my pads. Works great!

to dry, I hang my pads on end using a strip of Velcro. No way they're falling off using that stuff

I only wash my pads by hand with some mild detergent then I let them air dry. I have now ordered Meguiars pads for the first time and won't change this system. If you had to pay that much for Meguiars pads like we do here.... (that's 20 Euros.... each!) you wouldn't throw them into the machine either.
