  • How to get wax off plastics?

My friend has wax all over his plastics and nothing seems to get it off. What should he use?

I always use Meguiar's #39 Heavy Duty Vinyl Cleaner for removing wax from plastic. It works great!

      Hi:

For removing wax 39 is the best product to use.

It may take a number of applications to get the wax off.

If the wax has been on for a long time or baked by the sun or engine heat it may be very difficult to remove.

A very soft bristled brush similar to an old toothbrush can help break up the wax.

Of course you will what to work on a cool surface so the 39 has a chance to work.

If you're talking about the textured plastic like wiper cowls, etc- try a 10 cent pink eraser...

I used alcohol wipes to get mine off sometimes. Or when done waxing I try to wipe the wax of before it dries. But I did try something by applying dressing to the plastic/ vinyl it covers it up.
