Thanks for all the answers gang . I work in a dealership in parts and took an interest in this after our so called detail dept couldn't get it out. Lets just say i can out polish them without even trying. Unfortunately there glorified car washers. Probably not there fault i doubt they've ever been properly trained.

I had great success cleaning the light grey belts in my 7-Up Car. I used good old shaving foam (the aerosol kind). I laid a towel over the white leather seats to keep them clean and pulled the belt out, then applied the foam to a microfiber and worked the belt with it. After I got the dirt out, I used a secont microfiber dampened with water to remove as much of the shaving foam as possible, and then left the belts clipped into the seatbelt buckle with the windows down a little for a couple of days to dry. They came out nice and clean. Smelled pretty good too...1968 Mustang Coupe Candy Apple Red
