I am too slow....

I took me six hours to wash and dry my truck, dress the tires, trim, and wheelwells,wipe down the inside and perform a light vacumm. Then wipe the dust off the engine and dress it again. Do you guys take this long when doing this? I think I am moving too slow!?!

I had to do this though since its been close to a month since I washed my truck and I was getting some interesting comments. It was pretty nice out today too.

6 hrs? and no paint correction? it takes me around 1.5-2hrs to do my gmc sierra 2500hd crew cab.

That does seem like a long time...I washed, hand-dried, and dressed my tires/wheels in 2 hours. I don't think wiping down the interior and light vacuuming will add another 4 hours... lol

Did you mean to be quick? I think an hour to wash, dry and dress a car is quite sufficient. That said, I actually like to take my time. Some people enjoy pottering in the garden - I enjoy "pottering" with my car cleaning and can happily lose myself for hours achieving very little in real terms.

6 hours may be a bit long without any paint correction or polishing/waxing of any kind. But looks like you were pretty meticulous judging from your after pictures. Really Nice job!!

I also did a light detail on the engine, cleaned off the dust with APC Plus and re dressed with Hyperdressing, then I used QD on the painted areas.

No, I was going for 3-4 hours. The wheels, tires, and wheelwells were extremly dirty so that took an hour itself. I also clean inside the wheels with a spoke brush. I always start with the wheels, tires and wheelwells too. And I have a lot of exterior trim to dress and I am pretty picky with getting every groove of my tire dressed.

Thanks, I didnt have much else to do today so I guess I must have taken my time. The time just flys by so fast.

Nope, I take as long with a sizable car. Sometimes I even take almost that long when I need a proper cleaning on my Cutlass.

You obviously thought your truck was neglected. Not doing it for a month. So you were more meticulous then normal. End result, the truck looks great and you are happy.

The Yukon takes me forever too, come to think of it....the Neon takes forever too! living in rural No. California with it's dust, our cars get dirty quickly!

It does take the better part of a day for me though!

There is a lot of surface area on that truck. I'd say time doesn't matter unless you're getting paid for it. Truck looks really nice!

I think you just enjoy doing a really good job. I noticed that I take longer if I make sure I am enjoying it. No one works harder than a kid playing. $ can't buy it. Well...........comes close.

I can do that in an hour and a half, but I always take more time on my own cars. Plus it's a truck! I take 2 hours at least to wash one. That thing was dirty
