Hey 3fitty, it has been a while my friend!

Because UQW was not designed for windshields, I would imagine that when the product wears off, just like when RainX does, it will provide places where the wipers grab and others where the product remains, glides right over. Hence, severe chatter in some cases.

Honestly, I am not a fan of waxing a windshield as a wax normally will cause smearing and star-bursts when a headlight shines through it at night. I normally use M04 Heavy Cut Cleaner to clean the glass thoroughly and then maintain with Meguiar's Glass Cleaner.

Instead, what I do use and really like is the RainX Windshield Washer fluid. It leaves a nice coating that does not smear and it does not cause the wipers to chatter.

I have used it for years on several vehicles and never had a problem with blade chatter. I agree with Greg that small drops do not blow off and require the wipers, especially the spray from other vehicles. I think they changed the formula from years ago, it doesn't last as long as it once did. I am going to have to try AquaPel, I never heard of it until today.

Same here. The blade chatter was terrible.

One aspect of Rain-X bothers me...

Big rain drops easily slide right up and over your windshield, but sometimes big rain drops hit your windshield and burst into thousands of little drops. Those little drops don't always catch enough wind and require you to hit the wipers. Some of this could also be dependent on the rake of your windshield, but that is just a guess. Other than that, no problems.

UQW is short for Ultimate Quik Wax. You might find this handy: Meguiars Online Acronyms

I have used both the Rain-X and the AquaPel. I think the AP is a much better product--It lasts for months, gives good beading of water and makes the wipers silent on the glass. I thought the Rain-X worked only half as well and made a big mess.

No way to judge unless you actually DO over apply.
    Just teasing of course...

If you use a damp/moist MF cloth, followed with a dry one, most of the problems should go away.

Ultimate Quik Wax is by far better. RainX is alcohol based, smells bad, VERY hard to remove, ruins towels, etc. Definitely use UQW, it works better and is easier to apply... Just Spray on window, wipe off. You don't have to buff and wipe over and over to try to get a clear window.

Rain-X is a great product. Only gripe I had was durability. Other than that, nothing wrong with it.
