Re: Rain X Windshield ??
And the 2 in 1 is applied like you say? It's not so clear when reading the label...
Anyway, as for window CLEANER goes, Megs stuff is WAY easier to use...

There is an Original RainX Spray, and a 2-in-1 RainX Cleaner/Treatment.

Re: Rain X Windshield ??
I thought the 2 in 1 stuff was just some sort of window cleaner, like the Meg stuff...
It's actualy the same as the "normal" RainX but in a spray?

My idea on how to apply is:
- a section at a time, spray on window, spray on terry towel and distribute evenly like wax,
- let it sit (5-10 minutes or less?)
- then wipe off with a towel with very little water
- final wipe off with a dry towel
What do you think?
Thanks!!
I apply two coats, so I'll explain it that way. But if you prefer one coat, then just jump to the second removal part. So what I do is:
1. Spray RainX on paper towel, and apply to all the windows. (You want to learn to spray most things onto a cloth, not the car/surface)
2. Let it sit for a bit.
3. Give a very rough wipe with a MF towel. Not really worrying about removal.
4. Spray RainX on paper towel, and apply to all windows.
5. Let sit for a bit.
6. Get the above MF cloth fairly wet (not dripping, but not just a little damp, and yeah, water), and then a dry MF. Wipe the window good with the wet one, then the dry one.
Hope that explains it well.

Re: Rain X Windshield ??
Ok I just tried the 2 in 1 RainX stuff, and well, I tend to think it's a complete catastrophy. I sprayed it on, tried to remove it first xith paper towels, it just kept leaving big marks all over the place, and the switched to MF. That was better but the product was catching on very hard on the MF. So I ended up washing the windshield with Meg's windshield product...

Re: Rain X Windshield ??
Well... I cant disagree with Tim, but maybe I apply the products often enough to not notice.
I use clay if needed, Nxt Glass Cleaner, and RainX once in a while, with UQD or UQW after each wash.
Something definitely stays on long enough to not cause me any chatter or terrible smears. There is an occasional smear that the squeegee takes care of.
I know some people have bad problems, but just cant say I have had any problems.

Re: Rain X Windshield ??
All I know is I applied Aquapel yesterday, and in perfect time too since we are getting pounded in Nor-Cal at present! Great stuff. Works like Rain-X, but I haven't had chatter the few times I used the wipers and it should last much longer than Rain-X. No constant reapplying, nice.

Re: Rain X Windshield ??
OK What I noticed for now with RainX is as ong as it rains it's great. Now If I engadge the whipers while it's dry, to remove dust i.e., I get a big long line of whatever if it on the windshield, right where the right wiper stops in "high" position, right in the field of view, along the entire length of the whiper...
I'm wondering what a coat of UQW on top of RainX would do...

Re: Rain X Windshield ??
BTW I was wondering how UQD would react to RainX Additive? Does it hold on ar does ir gets scrubbed off right away? (and for that matter, wih regular windshield fluid also)

I might give this stuff a try, If regularly washed, I tend never to have issues.

Re: Rain X Windshield ??
I apply rain x quite a bit maybe monthly on several vehicles the easiest way for me is before I was the car grab a few paper towel and lightly get the gunk off the windows spray the rainx on the glass and work it on let it dry and procede to wash the car normally and just simply wash/scrub off the rainx with your car soap no streaking and works quick....if necessary use glass cleaner when finished the wash....

Re: Rain X Windshield ??
I guess when it starts to wear off, you just reapply a coat? No need for reoval first ?
