    Glad to hear about your success.

    Wesley's is THE BEST when it comes to all tire cleaning in my opinion...
    Super Degreaser works well too.
    Yeah SOS pads or a brand new grille brush works great.
    I also thought of painting them with a very high quality white primer like Kilz
