  • Any fixes for tire white letter scuffs?

I accidentally scuffed the white letters on my 07 Tacoma's TRD Off Road's BFGoodrich tires. The white marking isn't gone completely, but it needs to be improved to match the rest of the letters that didn't get scuffed. Is there anything I can do to fix this-other than avoid the curb next time!

If the curb made a bunch of little cuts into the white rubber, then the only way to fix it is to remove the color out of the cuts.
I've bumped too many curbs with my white wall tires. I found a way to fix it. Dig out the grime that's embeded in the scratches maybe use a tooth pick or a narrow, stiff brush to dig the black or brown out.

It's extremely time consuming. the best thing to do it get black wall tires.

I scrub really hard with a nice scrub brush and some Westley's Bleche-Wite.

Westley's Bleche-Wite; in a squareish white spray bottle at most auto stores and Target/Walmarts. Designed specifically for your issue.

I've seen it anywhere from $2/spray bottle to $6/spray bottle.

                Hmmmm

I say Super Degreaser at 4:1. I use Wesleys or Purple Power once in a great while but I prefer Super Degreaser combined with car wash soap and a traditional tire brush.

As someone already said, SOS pads. My Dad used them on his whitewalls years ago and they worked great.

For those times when you do rub off the white lettering think back when we were kids working on our models.

                    TESTORS MODEL PAINT WORKS GREAT!!!!!!!

Nice idea! Do you need to have a surgeon's hand to avoid splotching and overspilling the lines and such?

Masking tape works fine or let a woman do it.

I was able to wash the truck today and all the scuffs came out with Bleeche White and a Meguiar's tire brush.

The Testors model paint marker idea sounds great if they letters get scuffed really badly!

Glad the WBW worked for ya .
It hasn't failed me yet! It's fun to see all the brown and strange-colored gunk roll off the tires after an application.

I use WBW every time I wash our vehicles, but never thought it would make the scuffs disappear too!
