I would like to hear too I have very much the same problem on the top of my truck. This is a pic after 2 passes with Ultimate Compound by hand, and 4 or more passes with M105 using a G100.
Yes I have the M105 ordered as well as the G110 DA polisher as well as the polishing and finishing pads suggested by Michael Stoops. I think I am going to try and my luck with UC and the DA first before stepping up to the M105. I figure that I'll go with the less aggressive product first because why use something more harsh than you need. However if that doesn't work I'll have to step it up to the M105.
Ricks778 I'm curious what kind of vehicle that is. It appears to be of similar color as mine and I was thinking maybe Ford's darker color paints may be harder than average paint. Or maybe Ford paint in general. I do not know anything about it for the time being it is all just speculation. Anyone know anything about this?

It it a 2002 Toyota Tacoma Dark Green Mica.
I just borrowed the G100 for a few weeks, but after using it I am planing on getting eather a PC or a G110 soon. where as by hand doing the truck is like work. with a machine it almost fun.

Ultimate compound is almost just as harsh as M105. I would use 80 or 83 to begin with.
I thought that I had read one the forums somewhere that M105 was supposed to be harsher than UC? Maybe I am just making this up in my mind because UC can be used by hand. I'll take a look at 80 and 83.
M105 is, without a doubt, the most aggressive liquid Meguiar's makes. You've seen the scale on the side of our Mirror Glaze polishes/cleaners/compounds, right? It used to go to 10 but when M105 came out we had to turn up the volume to 12 (outdoing even Spinal Tap by 1 ).
Ultimate Compound makes use of similar technology, and both products can be used by hand, but we don't recommend UC for rotary use, whereas that was the primary focus in the development of M105. M105 is definitely a more aggressive liquid than Ultimate Compound.

Remember, this hobby is supposed to be your therapy, not the reason you need therapy.

No, UC is ALMOST as harsh as 105. UC is designed for work with hand, and 105 is designed for work with DA, though both can be used by hand or DA.
Ok my mistake I had read Ken Allen's post wrong. And yes, I have seen the scale for polishes/cleaners/compounds that is what was leading to this confusion. However just a simple misread. I was unaware that M105 could be used by hand. That is very good information to have. However due to the fact that I bought that DA I may not ever use it by hand. Thanks again for the help guys. Products should be here any day I'm feeling anxious.

If you haven't used any of these products, or a DA before, I highly suggest you go to a junkyard or find a body panel with non-clear coat failure paint, and practice on that before you start on your car.
I have the perfect truck for that lol. I have an extremely old jeep camanche, you know that truck that jeep used to make I was definatley going to hone my skills on that thing before stepping up to my daily driver. I have also been watching propably an unhealthy amount of videos describing the process, and have also been reading a lot in the work with tools forum. I feel very confident, I do not know what it is about this forum that makes me feel like I can tackle any project lol. You guys are fantastic and give great adive and I really admire that. Some forums you just get flamed out becaue you are looking for information. This place is fantastic a very tight collabortive team. I can't thank you enough guys...even if i cant fix my cara haha.

I felt that it was pretty easy and that it's really hard to burn the paint. I had a harbor freight buffer with 300-3000RPM control. I found it easy to do .
Thats good, a little more confidence added once again. I just checked the tracking number on all my stuff and good news, its in Oregon only one more state away before it gets here. Everytime I come on to read these forums my heart starts beating with excitement. CLEAN CAR CLEAN CAR!
