  • Water Hose - what type do you use?

I don't yet want to use a pressure washer for my details and so I currenly use the customer's water but bring my own hose. The hose I have linked to below looks good. I have been using a cheapy that kinks and such. What do you guys think?

Providing you with the best quality hose products on the market, including: garden hoses and accessories, metal garden hose reels, air hose, air hose reels, discharge hose, suction hose, camlock fittings and more!

I use the craftsman black rubber hose and it works really well. It has outlasted all the other hoses I've tried and also has a lifetime warranty.

That hose from factory direct is kind of pricey to me. I usually get a $25.00 hose from Lowes/Home Depot. Works good enough for me.

Not sure if you really need (or want to wind up) a 150' water hose. Lord, I have a 50' and have never needed more. I purchased my kink-free hose from Lowes years ago and it still works like a charm. Don't waste your money on a hose that isn't kink-free. I think I spent somewhere around $30 for mine.

Here's the hose I bought from Lowes. It is $27 now for the 50'. They have 75' and 100', too. $40 for the 100' isn't a bad price at all.

Does it really not kink? Or doesn't kink very much?

If it kinks, you just pull and the kink rolls out. When you get a kink in a hose that isn't kink-free, you can pull till the cows come home and that sucker ain't coming out. Once you have one, you'll curse the time when you have to use one that isn't.

I bought a hexagonal shaped one from Ace. It is really resistent to kinking plus it comes with a life time warranty.

I have several (6) of the Sears Craftsman hoses as mentioned earlier in the thread and they work pretty well. They are well made, stay flexible in any temperature and do have a lifetime guarantee. I kept the packaging and stapled the register receipt to it in case they ever fail. The only negative is that the black tends to rub off on your skin and clothing.

Whichever doesn't leak at the moment. I use the Sears and I've taken advantage of the lifetime guarantee without any questions asked; just as long as the original fixtures are still intact so they can verify it's their merchandise. Mines black and it seems to be made from old tires. It's nearly indestructible, but a bear to get the kinks out of. I suppose they vary by when one buys...

I had a Sears 50 footer one time, and it failed on me. All I needed to return it though was the cut off hose ends.

I paid the difference and bought a 75 footer, but someone stole it from me.

That was the best hose I ever owned.

That's the one I currently own and it's great. I've had the half rubber/vinyl hoses (returned them 3 times and finally the sales clerk was nice enough to give me an even swap, even though the all rubber hose was more in cost) and they wouldn't last very long and would burst at the tip (one of our water valves were capped off cause it was leaking) because our water pressure was very strong. Haven't had that issue with this one and it if it kinks, I just pull/tug on it and it's out. I would buy another in a heartbeat...

Another thing I liked about that hose imacarnut, is the smooth round water flow you could get out of it (without a spray nozzle attached). The flow was not distorted at all, and it made for easier water spot removal.
