Re: Water Hose - what type do you use?
Not sure if you really need (or want to wind up) a 150' water hose. Lord, I have a 50' and have never needed more. I purchased my kink-free hose from Lowes years ago and it still works like a charm. Don't waste your money on a hose that isn't kink-free. I think I spent somewhere around $30 for mine.A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

Here's the hose I bought from Lowes. It is $27 now for the 50'. They have 75' and 100', too. $40 for the 100' isn't a bad price at all.
Here's the link to Lowe's

If it kinks, you just pull and the kink rolls out. When you get a kink in a hose that isn't kink-free, you can pull till the cows come home and that sucker ain't coming out. Once you have one, you'll curse the time when you have to use one that isn't.

I have several (6) of the Sears Craftsman hoses as mentioned earlier in the thread and they work pretty well. They are well made, stay flexible in any temperature and do have a lifetime guarantee. I kept the packaging and stapled the register receipt to it in case they ever fail. The only negative is that the black tends to rub off on your skin and clothing.Jim

Whichever doesn't leak at the moment. I use the Sears and I've taken advantage of the lifetime guarantee without any questions asked; just as long as the original fixtures are still intact so they can verify it's their merchandise. Mines black and it seems to be made from old tires. It's nearly indestructible, but a bear to get the kinks out of. I suppose they vary by when one buys..."If we knew what we were doing, it wouldn't be called research would it? (Albert Einstein 1879-1955)
