I'd like to see one myself.

He'd clayed the car recently so the back panel was washed, then the damaged area wetsanded with 1500, 2500 and finished with 3000. All Meg's Unigrit.

It was done this way because I didn't want to get anywhere near the lower emblem letters with the rotary and knew I would have to do some of it by hand. In fact, the light was failing due to storm clouds rolling in; I told him he may have to come back later for a bit more hand compounding if any hazing reveals itself that I may have missed. I really should have gotten one of the shop fluorescent trouble lights out.

Next step was M95 with the rotary/Meg's wool pad and then by hand in the area near the letters. Then D151 on a G110 with a 2.0 finishing pad and then topped off with M21 2.0.

Ouch, that does look pretty bad! Dont beat yourself up to bad though man, this will soon be a funny story you can tell everyone about it and laugh. It looks pretty bad but really should come out quite nicely. I would take up Seth on his offer and pick up some tips while with him. Take some pics when you get it done for us

It doesn't look too bad to fix, so don't worry. If you are going to take it somewhere, see if they have a paint thickness gauge and can measure that area versus the area next to it so you know what they/you have to work with. It looks like it could be buffed out or even sanded and buffed out with not too much trouble. I may have missed it earlier, but have you tried ScratchX 2.0 or Ultimate Compound by hand yet with a foam applicator and did it help?

im in the DC metro area. I got a few suggestions of great places to go around my area from the guys on the G35 forums. I might get a few quotes to see how much it will cost to repair. Im going to get some day time shots tomorrow for you guys of what it looks like after the ScratchX and wax and such.
