How to correctly apply ScratchX to remove swirls and scratches

How much better did it get? Nothing wrong with a few more aplications of ScratchX 2.0, or some Ultimate Compound.

Hopefully not, my worry is that Infiniti paint is rather thin to start with and you could wear it down with repeated applications of products. What part of the US are you in?

        Yikes!

        That is a huge mess...

I would definitely try ScratchX 2.0 and or Ultimate Compound. But a DA might be needed to fix that...

Depending on were you are in the US, I'm sure there are professional detailers (check on MOL first) who can clean up the mess.

At this point, you need to focus on paint rescue and not more trial and error.
#1 I am pretty good at fixing this sort of thing.

#2 In this case I think that I would go to a *very good* pro to have it fixed.

Your car is simply too nice to mess up any more.

A longggggg time ago I decided to wax my dad's truck. I used paper towels. I was young so I felt proud. It looked like total poop though. It looked better before I waxed it. My dad fixed it by using a compound. I agree Scratchx 2.0 for this.

im in the DC metro area. I got a few suggestions of great places to go around my area from the guys on the G35 forums. I might get a few quotes to see how much it will cost to repair. Im going to get some day time shots tomorrow for you guys of what it looks like after the ScratchX and wax and such.

I see Virginia tags in that parking lot photo. If you're anywhere near Herndon tomorrow, I'll be at 711 Monroe St. from around 3 to 6 PM, it's a small auto service/sales lot, (corner of Monroe and Elden). A quick wetsand and buff is all you need. No charge.

It doesn't look too bad to fix, so don't worry. If you are going to take it somewhere, see if they have a paint thickness gauge and can measure that area versus the area next to it so you know what they/you have to work with. It looks like it could be buffed out or even sanded and buffed out with not too much trouble. I may have missed it earlier, but have you tried ScratchX 2.0 or Ultimate Compound by hand yet with a foam applicator and did it help?
