Meguiar's is very good about doing their homework before making product application recommendations and this would include field testing in real world environments. So if D101 is recommended for use to clean leather then used correctly it's safe to use.

That said, with some leather you're going to see pigment transfer to your cleaning cloth with any cleaner, so always test in an inconspicuous area and check your results before applying to the major surfaces.

And 10:1 means 10 portions of APC mixed with 1 portion of water or the opposite?

        The opposite.

How to properly dilute Meguiar's Detailer Line products

This how to article will show you how to properly dilute a dilutable product using Meguiar's OSHA Approved Secondary Bottles. For this how-to article we will use D10101 All Purpose Cleaner but the methods shown are the same for all Meguiar's dilutable products.

I'll need to see if i can get APC here.It seems to be well liked. I've had that in the past with leather cleaners. Some are quite mild and some strong which can take some of the coloring onto the cloth.

Hahah thanks guys! There's a local store about half a mile from my house that sells that, but they were closed when I went half an hour ago. I will visit again tomorrow.

PS: This may be a dumb question, but what can I use the APC for? Everything?

Basically. Its great on carpets, seats (cloth or leather), tire cleaner, wheel wells, engine cleaning, etc. Can't really think of too many things that it CAN'T be used on.

And I was only half joking, but if I put enough APC, will grey leather turn white?

You may have better luck using a stiffer bristled, larger brush rather than a small, rather "soft" toothbrush.

Re: Are my leather seats dirtier than everyone else's?

Hey agp! APC would be my product of recomendation to you in this, great product and yes you can really use it on every surface pretty much. On the inside it can be on carpets, seats, and dash but you would want to follow up with a protectant/cleaner to make sure to remove everything. Then exterior you can use it on wheels, wheel wells, engine. Its the best all around product.

Another suggestion I wanted to throw your way which I have had great success with is that if you use the apc and it doesnt cut it for you get yourself a magic eraser. It sounds odd but trust me it works! use that on your seat and then wipe off any moisture and apply the leather cleaner/conditioner for protection and you should be good And like roushstage2 said I would use a little stiffer brush or a nice terry cloth towel so you have some matt to work in in a little more

Apc can just about be used for most things. I use it on carpets, dash, vinyl, tires. I would spray the apc on the towel and then wipe it on the seats. I have heard that sometimes when sprayed on leather directly it can cause spotting.

I find this thread interesting as I have tried this for thorough cleanings:

                          And this for touch-ups:

But can't get the desired results for leather cleaning like the original poster is stating. This thread has been helpful, especially with the APC.

I've recently discovered that using a vinyl cleaner works wonders and is color-fast on my leather seats. I can't speak for any long-term effets on the leather, but using that and a toothbrush works miracles for cleaning.

How to locate Meguiar's Professional and Detailer products in your hometown

I went to three stores today I found on the store search link you sent me. None of them carried the APC, and they couldn't order it because none of them had it on their catalog. And one of the stores was deserted a year ago according to local residents...

Doesn't matter if they have or don't have a catalog, what matters is if the product is in the warehouse that supplies them with their Meguiar's products.

If you give them the part number then they should be able to order it for you. This might require some effort on their part like making a phone call to the warehouse or an entry into some computer software but that's called customer service, they may or may not offer that.

You always have online options and most of the online vendors are up to date with what's going on in the car chemical world.

Way to be proactive and locate the local PBE stores in your hometown.
