  • is Quick Detailer aluminum safe?

This is probably a question for Mike Phillips but if anyone else has an opinion I welcome your advice.fficeffice" />

The FAA has recommended not using Simple Green on aircraft because if it is not rinsed completely it can cause corrosion. Simple Green came out with an aluminum safe product, Simple Green Aircraft, that the FAA, Boeing, etc. says is OK.

While cleaning the oily grime off the belly of my plane this morning I decided to try Quick Detailer. It worked great but, remembering the Simple Green problem, and not having the ability to rinse the QD off the surface – both painted and unpainted - I need to know if using QD without rinsing can damage aluminum.

    Thanks,
    Dave

One of the admins here will be able to specifically tell you that information.

I use QD almost everywhere, bodywork and engine bay and havn't came across any problems with aluminium.I wouldn't imagine so?

Should be just fine The only thing you won't want to use on aluminum is Wheel Brightener since it is an acid.

It should be fine as roush said. On top of wheel brightener, don't use All Wheel Cleaner or Chrome Wheel cleaner either as they use acid (but both are supposed to be rinsed off anyways)

I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.

        I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
        Remove swirls my friends.

You should have no problems. I can not remember any warnings about not using on aluminum.

Quik Detailer and all of our mist & wipe products, (quick detailers are in a category called "Mist & Wipe products), are perfectly safe for polished and uncoated aluminum.

Looks like you're copying and pasting from some type of Microsoft software.

Thanks everyone. The QB sure leaves a nicer finish then the Simple Green.

It should, Simple Green is a cleaner whereas QD is more of a "finishing" product to use after you've already cleaned. Glad it's working for you.
