I had planned to wash, and only wash, the car this morning because I had a lot of things I need to get done today. No more than two hours for a simple two bucket wash, dry, and quick detail. Piece of cake, right?
4 hours later...
The problem is when I see something that needs to be cleaned, it ends up getting done. Today that included the door jambs. I wiped them down with UQD and was satisfied with the results.....except for the driver side door sill. It looked dull and scuffed. Broke out the Brinkmann only to reveal some cloudy scratching. I attacked it with some ScratchX 2.0 and an applicator pad. Two applications later the sill cleaned up very nicely, although it still needs to be worked with some UC.
So my question of the day: Do you polish the door jambs and sills as part of a full detail? I imagine the clear on the jamb/sill paint is of a consistent thickness as the rest of the finish? And if you do polish the jambs/sills, is it by hand or do you try to get the DA into those tight spaces?
