  • Foam Gun's - Revisited - Again!!!

So, I got a foaming attachment to my Karcher power washer and got to try it out for the first time.

I wanted to write a bit about my experience because I know it has come up quite a few times, so now that I've tried it, I thought I'd chime in on the debate.

I'm not even sure where I stood on the issue before I got one, and I don't think it replaces the two-bucket method by any stretch, but I've gotta tell ya... I REALLY LIKED USING IT!

Okay, do I know it's better than without? No.

Did it feel like it added lubricity? Yes.

Do I know if it did? No.

Does it reduce the likelihood of instilling swirls/scracthes? Don't know.

But here is what I do know... boy did I ever feel cool using it and boy did my paint feel slicker than snot when I used it.

My combo for washing last night was... Detailers Pride High Foam Soap and Meg's Gold Class in a bucket (I still used the two bucket method). I gave the car a good foam and the foam just seemed to sit and sit and sit on the paint and hang around. By the time I got around to washing the entire car, there was still a lot of foam on the car.

It remained wet and well lubricated.

I'm not advocating that this is a "must have" item, but I'd be lying if I didn't say I thought it was quite a good addition to my arsenal. Just wanted to pass on my impressions.

BTW, the foam attachment was about $25. I found a youtube video of the same attachment. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4gsM6718P8

Always nice to see a convert...

Could try just your regular Gold Class in the gun.

Yeah, I remember you saying you thought that it just felt slicker and while I was washing I thought of you and how I agreed.

I don't know that I was ever against them, just never used one, so I don't know if I'm a convert, but I'm happy to say that I am.

If nothing else, boy do I ever feel cool using it!!! LOL

As for the soap... I put in an order at eshine recently and they had the DP on sale so I figured "what the heck" give it a shot. I'm also a little ticked that I can't find NXT wash anywhere (including a bunch of places South of the border - autozone, target, harbor freight, walmart). I generally prefer NXT over the GC shampoo.

Although I have a different lance than the OEM Karcher one, here is a thread that I did not too long ago showing the differences in the soap. I hope this gives you some good ideas

          Let There Be FOAM!!!
