    Re: Any fixing this?

This is my new project car. I was wondering if I could somehow use the DA to clean up the hood and make it look new. I do have a DA and soem cutting/ polishing pads. Hopefully I could use something, if not ill have to repaint, right?

sorry to be the one to tell you this, but it looks like you have some Clearcoat failure on that hood. Best bet is a repaint.

I have a 16 year old Civic with a trunk and roof that look even worse. But the hood and fenders are OK. I plan to use it like a body panel from the junkyard - something to refine my technique on. If everything goes right, parts of that car will look showroom new!

There's no ifs, ands, or buts about it. The only solution is a repaint. You cannot "fix" clearcoat failure.

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

No fixing that. All that would take care of it is a repaint.

ClearlyCoated came close to what I'd suggest, I would detail the rest of the car to see what can and can't be saved. If it turns out to be just the hood, a decent repaint for a single panel is usually pretty reasonable.
