    Which product to use, pro or consumer?

    Hello,

    I have a 350ZR with very minor swirls. Up to this point I have used menzerna with a PC and Zaino and have been pleased, except with the menzerna. To try something different I went with NXT and #16 and was very happy with the results and thus wanted to try Meguiar's polish and cleaners for the light swirls. My question is whcih to use?

    I am leaning towards the #83/#80 with a polishing pad and then NXT and #16 with a finishing pad but I am unsure if maybe I should use #9 with #7 with the PC. And to make matters more confusing, what about the consumer line? Should I sue the DC system with the PC? Will it give better results or be easier to work with?

    As you can see from the pic (I hope) it is very hard to se the swirls, but maybe the second pic is clear enough so you can see the minor swirls. Thank you for any ideas/suggestions.

    Hi DB350ZR,

    I would lean towards the #83 and the #80 with the polishing pad.

    Try doing a test spot using only the #80 Speed Glaze first, then apply your wax and inspect your results. If you don't have to get as aggressive as the #83 to get good results, then don't.

      I would agree with Mike, try the #83 and #80. However, it may be possible that #80 is enough for what you need. This is one of my personal favorites.

            Well, I will put my order in right away. I will go with the 83 and 80 with the polishing pad follwed with the NXT and #16. My only dismay is having to do the 80 first to see if it is enough and finding it is not and having to redo with 83. Oh well, such is life. Thanks for the reply. I already have before pictures, now to get the after and then I will post.

            PS Before my 350Z I owned a G35 Coupe. I was even in LA last weekend and wish I could have made the G35 event, but it was full by the time I learned of it. Maybe soon there will be a 350Z or even just a "Z" event .

              You do not need to do the whole car with #80. To test if it will work select an area about 1' x 1'. I like to use a piece of tape to seperate the area so I can see a clear difference. After using #80 on this 1 foot square area add your coats of wax and then examine it. If it looks good enough to you then only use #80. If you want to see what #83 would do better, do a test spot with that as well. I like to create a couple test spots and compare before doing the whole car.

              Find the combination that looks best to you and use it. Remember, you may decide that, for instance, the small gains you get with #83 instead of just #80 aren't worth the time and effort, it's all up to you!

                Thank you again

                I will do that, a small spot on the hood first (it seems the most noticeable) to test just 80. I was mostly refering to buying both 83 and 80, then finding 80 alone works.

                One other question, I also thought after 80 is it ok to go right to NXT and #16 or would there be a benefit to #7 then NXT and #16? Would it make it look better or would it not really matter with using the 80?

                    All future clinics will require that anyone that wants to attend a class to reply to a Sign-Up thread. The last two weeks before the G35Driver clinic I was turning people away both over the phone and via e-mails and PM's because the class was full. I even put an announcement on the front page stating this.

                    The 20 people that didn't show up prevented the half a dozen or more people from attending. Since there are only so many Saturday's in a year, this was real disappointing.

                      No, I have a plan old boring licencse plate number given to me by the state of Arizona

                      That is too bad about the G35 event. I was all excited to go and then say the post stating there was no room. It is too bad you guys are not in Phx, lucky LA people have a lot of opportunity there.

                            Yes, I have bought 32 oz bottles of #83 and #80 along with 2 orange pads (not Meguiar's) and two finishing pads (Meguiar's). I also bought 2 ultimate wipes (I really like them) and 3 ultimate bonnets. Earlier I bought the NXT wash and wax and #16 wax along with around 10 DF microfiber towels of various sizes and the Meguiar's lambswool wash mitt and Meguair's ulitmate hose nozzle.

                            So, except for some towels and the two pads I will use for polishing, it will be a Meguiar's affair - well except I like Zaino, lexol and 303 for the tires and interior. Although I have never used Meguiar's products in that area but up to now have not found anything I like better. Maybe after the Zaino, lexol and 303 run out I will try some Meguiar's interior care and tire care products.

                              Hey, Mike! What do you think of #83, followed by #9? Will I get same results as #83, followed by #82? From your experince which combo removes swirls the best?
