Re: Rain X? Windsheild only or all windows?
I read before that RainX does not act well with some wipers. End result is you will have to change wiper blade more often.
I have no way to confirm this.
I usually use Aquapel but it's hard to find in Toronto.

Re: Rain X? Windsheild only or all windows?
I use it on all windows & side view mirrors. I tried another product but it left the windows oily, like there was too much silicone even though I applied it very thinly & wiped it off just like the RainX. There's a good reason RainX has the market cornered IMO.

Re: Rain X? Windsheild only or all windows?
I use rain-x on front windshield and rear window. It doesn't seem to make much of a difference on side windows, unless you live in a cold area and expect frost(if that case the frost comes off easier or melts faster than non-rain-x windows). Rain-x seems to help having it on the wing mirrors from fogging up too. Rain-x takes a few mins to buff off like others said.
What I like about rain-x is that after its been applied I can use IPA to clean the windows and the Rain-x stays there for months. I have tired wax and sealant on windows, but rain-x works the best and last longer.

rainX on all the windows and roof(glass)
I got yelled at by pedestrians who get sprayed by the water beads flinged off the glass by the wipers when I use the window spray......

Carefully apply it to a small/medium size area (I do right and left sides in 3-4 areas each), working it in just like wax . Get a nice, even coat then take a break, go eat a sandwich or something. Come back and start buffing off the haze and keep turning or replacing your MF towel or paper towels. You'll get there! DO NOT apply in scorching hot sun!! It will just turn to steam (no kidding).
I also find the RainX that comes in the spray bottle to be alot easier to work with opposed to dribbleing it on from the smaller squeeze bottle. The spray RainX (16 oz, I think) was around $5 at Walmart and would probably last you a year. That's stupid cheap!
Bought a gallon of RainX Windshield Washer Fluid (orange stuff) last fall and that seems to help maintain the water sheading action. I have read it might create an orange crude but I haven't noticed that. I'm on the lookout though. And, it won't hurt the performance or longevity of the product.

Most times I only do the front and back windows but when I get ambitious I do all the windows including the side mirrors.

Re: Rain X? Windsheild only or all windows?
Would Rain X come off if you clean your windows with Glass Cleaner? I live in So Cal so I really don't have a need to put anything on the windows since it doesn't rain too much. Plush I love my Bosch Icon Blades, They Are Amazing.
Does anyone know of anything you can put on you can put on your blades to condition them, without making them streak.
Also, would Rain X or even just UQW Help prevent dust from settling on your windshield?

Re: Rain X? Windsheild only or all windows?
The buffing problem people have with Rain-X is because the windows have nothing on them.
They are "Dry windows', my term.
After one aplications you don't have to buff so hard anymore.

Re: Rain X? Windsheild only or all windows?
Rain-X is pretty good, but the buffing and removing is a pain.
Castrol had a product that was out a few years ago called AccuVision, which is a spray and wipe rain repellant, but does not involve the buffing of Rain-X.
My brother was luck enough to find some of this in a Wal-Mart a few weeks back and it was redesigned a bit, but it still seemed to be the great product that it was.
When I first picked up my (new to me car) back in 2004, it was a rainy day. The windshield was just that puddle of water on it. I pulled out my AccuVision in the rain, sprayed the windshield down and water just went running away in fear. It is a wonderful product, plus it's not that expensive so keep your eyes open for it and try it out. It is one of those few wonderful, non-Meguiar's products I keep around.

im not that crazy...
you see the rain beads just wash up to the roof of the car...

on a side note, 200km/h in the rain is quite fast - you're playing with hydroplaning at that speed

i clay all glass then apply rain x... when you drive 200Km/H in the rain you dont have to use the wippers... its a really good product!
i have not tried on the inside... i think there is a special product for the inside anti fog i think... but i dont see it anymore...

Re: Rain X? Windsheild only or all windows?
I use it on the inside AND outside. On the inside it makes subsequent cleanings SO much easier. I use the spray bottle and mist it on a paper towel and rub it into the glass until it's an even haze. Then I go around with a moderately damp cloth and wipe off the residue and finally, (before the water from towel #2 dries) I buff the glass with a clean MF.
