People really are quite careless about how dangerous it can be.

I was driving a friends car in the rain, and couldnt see remotely clearly out any side window to make a turn. Needless to say, I at least got the windows clean soon after.

As far as Rain-X products, not a fan of their 2-in-1 Glass Cleaner.

First off, I think the stuff is AMAZING!
It should be used by everyone on everything.

    I use it on:
    --Windshield
    --Sunroof
    --Back window
    --Side mirrors
    --Driver window
--Headlights (only if they are glass!)

Just a side note, KEEP IT AWAY FROM PAINT!!!!!
    It will trash it permanently

RainX is a terrific product and I've been using it a long time. But in my experience it requires a good bit of buffing to get the haze off. Not a big deal but it takes a few minutes.

Carefully apply it to a small/medium size area (I do right and left sides in 3-4 areas each), working it in just like wax . Get a nice, even coat then take a break, go eat a sandwich or something. Come back and start buffing off the haze and keep turning or replacing your MF towel or paper towels. You'll get there! DO NOT apply in scorching hot sun!! It will just turn to steam (no kidding).

I also find the RainX that comes in the spray bottle to be alot easier to work with opposed to dribbleing it on from the smaller squeeze bottle. The spray RainX (16 oz, I think) was around $5 at Walmart and would probably last you a year. That's stupid cheap!

Bought a gallon of RainX Windshield Washer Fluid (orange stuff) last fall and that seems to help maintain the water sheading action. I have read it might create an orange crude but I haven't noticed that. I'm on the lookout though.

I put it on all my windows. There are a birds where I park my car and I've found the droppings run straight off the windows and paint, pooling on the ground. All I'm left with is a small trail to clean up rather than a blob on the windscreen. Perhaps on second thoughts I shouldn't do it so it stays on the paint rather than running on the glass.

Rain-X also has maintenance products too!
Window cleaner that adds Rain-X to your windows
Washer fluid additive. This stuff is great!
When I'm at the g-station I'll activate my washers to squirt it on a towel and use my washer fluid to clean my windows on the fly or driving some distance.
I always keep my windshield clean and Rain-X allows my glass to stay clean and shinny too!

The only Rain-X that I use is the (orange bottle) windshield cleaner, and I love it. There are times that I will be driving down the road specially at night where I don't even notice that it is raining until I pass someone or pull to a stop and see it in the head lights. Few times it was raining cats and dogs and I couldn't tell. I laugh at those people who are driving and have their wipers full speed, and here I have them at only slow-med. Lol, all in all good stuff, water beads off like you wouldn't believe. Never tried the regular Rain-X before.

I just bought a bottle at the local Trader Horn and cleaned my windshield and front side windows with it. Nice out today and tomorrow, But they want rain for the rest of the 10 day on weather channel. So we will have to see how it does. It went on kind of funny, looked a little filmy... Who knows, its on streak free and clear to see out of even when i purposly looked towards the sun. Bring on the rain!

Nanolex? Aquaglass? GTechniq? .. so many nano coatings out there.

Maybe one of these days I try some but for a normal car guy like me, it takes the fun out of cleaning the car every week/month. No need to seal or wax for a year or so, I think I'd probably go crazy.

Hi. Try nano sealant instead. Its ALOT better than Rain X. Rain X is bad compared to nano when it comes to durablity.
