  • hi (help pls)

    hello everyone.

i am desperate for your help.

my black car has been covered with small paint droplets. it feels harsh to the touch.

i tried lots of products (by hand), among which megs scratch x and clearcoat prep but to no avail. the only thing which seems to work is rexin, but i spent almost an hour on a 15cm section.

    thanks a million!

Are you able to find any detailing clay there?

It would be called the Meguiars Smooth Surface Clay kit, though other companies make some also.

That is what claying is for, removing bonded contaminants. It may or may not work , but it is certainly something you should try. There are different grades of clay with the Smooth Surface Clay being the mildest.

The "Introduce Yourself" forum is meant for that purpose, but please post a NEW thread in Detailing 101 for detailing related questions. It helps us stay organized, and you will get faster responses as well.

              Thanks!

                Welcome to MOL!

I recommend the Meguiar's Smooth Surface Clay Kit. And the Meguiar's Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner. They both work great

No problem, we have a very extensive line of products for multiple markets and that makes for a very busy forum, which is easy to see by scrolling down this page...

                        Good work.

Remeber to do you glass as well, and you can also clay the rims if you use an old piece. (Make sure it is an old piece, dont re-use it on your paint after being on the wheels.)

now on to the polishing and waxing this weekend!

any suggestions on using scratch x for optimum results pls?

another thing: i plan working in this order...

wash, clay, polish, scratch x, wax

is this ok or should scratch x come before polishing?

                            cheers.
