M20 is a great wax with some cleaning abilities with it although very light. Check your PBE stores, harder to find in stores.

M26 is a great wax, dries clear and pretty tough. It's pretty easy to find.

NXT 2.0 (and NXT 1.0 for that matter) is a tough glossy wax and very durable. You can see the difference when applying the wax and you can actually see where you missed applying wax. It's also readily available.

A popular combo is M21 topped with M26. (or vice versa .....)

Here's a great link that Mike did on waxes....

Hey Nappers, you forgot about Gold Class Liquid wax, i know how much you like it and its pretty hard not to like it as it as good as all the other waxes listed

      Ultimate Compound
      ScratchX 2.0
      M83
      M80

What do you think would be the best to use on my car in my situation? want a show car shine in the end
I would give Swirl X a try, if you use ultimate compound you may have to use a less agressive product for the finish to be LSP ready

i hope this helps and Good Luck!

Go with SwirlX. Your paint looks like it is probably in good shape swirl wise. SwirlX will remove any light swirls or scratches and leave you that show car finish you're looking for.

If you have a few heavier swirls or some RIDS ( Random Isolated Deeper Scratches) pick up the Ultimate Compound for them. Ultimate Compound has a lot of cut and you shouldn't need it for your whole car. As Tuck91 mentioned, If you find you need to use Ultimate Compound in a few places, you may need to follow up with SwirlX to remove light hazing.

Re: Need Help with what products to buy

So here is what I got for waxes
Now I might get 2 waxes as I have seen a few put 2 coats on...

M20-#20 Polymer Sealant – As the name implies, this is a premium polymer sealant. Unlike most products on the market labeled polymer sealant, this product works. The hardest thing to make a polymer sealant do is to bond and adhere evenly over the entire surface. Without the right technology behind the formula, polymers will tend to bond in some area, and not in others. This leaves some areas of your car's finish protected, while other areas are susceptible to damage. The chemist at Meguiar's went to great lengths to ensure that the polymers used in #20 Polymer Sealant bond evenly on all types of paint.

#20 Polymer Sealant contains a very small amount of some very light chemical paint cleaners, this helps to insure superior bonding for long lasting protection

          M21-M21 Synthetic Sealant 2.0
Hydrophobic Polymer Technology™ provides technologically advanced paint care and protection
          FEATURES:
          • Produces a noticeable deeper, darker, more reflective paint finish
          • Visually eliminates fine scratches and swirls, creating a flawless finish
          • Glides on easily with a smooth, resistance-free wipe-off

M26-M-26 Hi Tech Yellow Wax – This pure wax blends the highest quality Brazilian Number One Carnauba Wax with costly Polymers, Silicones, and special Resins to create eye dazzling gloss and depth of color while providing durable paint protection.

So which one of these will help me get the show car shine and protection. I need be I can buy 2 different waxes one for protection other for looks......need advice on waxes and polishes.

Grab some M20 and M26. I am using that combo on my car now.

When you saw my Focus at the class it was a single coat of M20.

I did just M20 for the class, then I tried M21 a few days ago over the M20, and today I tried M26.

I like the M20 + M26 on my Red the most, but the difference is basically non-existent between them. It's really splitting hairs between waxes, especially when layered...

I think M20 followed by M26 would be a good, easy place to start.

what do you say for polish ???

                  Ultimate Compound
                  ScratchX 2.0
                  M83
                  M80
                  M205

My car is new and do not want something to aggressive but just enough to get the job done for an average DISCO out

Re: Need Help with what products to buy

I would use M205 as your primary polish, and keep some Ulitmate Compound around for any deeper stuff.

lol I saw the price for M205 and its expensive so I will get a sample size and then got the M83 (how is this for use on a minor/average swirls for a new car)

Re: Need Help with what products to buy

M83 is good stuff, stronger than M80.

and yes....I forgot GC wax earlier . It's good stuff, just not as popular maybe as the Mirror Glaze/NXT line.

Hey this is my final list and I will order this tonight or tomorrow morning

Posting this pic took forever want someone to review this and clarify that it will lead me to a show car shine and all the products are ideal for my cars...I had trouble deciding for step #3 and #4

And please do tell if I am buying a worth-less product as the total is a lot more then I expect to be pay which was around the $250-300

Re: Need Help with what products to buy

Just a suggestion for you if you would like to save some money:
                            1. The bonnets are not neccesary, you can take the products of with the micro fiber towels. Bonnets just make it easier and faster. but who wants the easy and fast way - we love are cars!
                            2. Buy the 16oz. version of #21 and #26. While this will still last you a while for a single vehicle and you will also be able to see which product you like better.
                            3. Try getting 2 water magnet towels instead of 6. You will only need 2 do dry your car and then you can clean them and their ready for the next washin'.
                            4. The 3 "Ultimate wipe" towels are not necessary. You will be in great shape with all the 36 "Supreme Shine" towels you order.
This could save you about $80.00

Everything else looks good. Have fun!
Lead, follow, or get out of the way.
