  • ColorX/Cleaner Wax Replacement

Hi everyone, can anybody suggest any of Mirror Glaze/Detailer line to replace ColorX/Cleaner Wax in the consumer series? Well, I'm looking for a product which can perform like ColorX/Cleaner Wax, & fits the below criteria:
    1. Available in Gallon/64oz (MG/Detailer line)
    2. Min. cut or No cut (used on a regular basis, monthly/bi-monthly) to remove existing wax & cleans the surface b4 new sealant/wax.

Currently having M80 to do minor surface correction on my 6-months old Honda Civic which quite soft cc, & using Bosch DA with 5.5" LC pads (orange & white). But I am looking for another product which will serve as my monthly/bi-monthly cleaner/polish, & quite unsure quite of the following will provide me better results (M09, M82, M06 or M66).

I have read thru quite alot of the above 4 products in the forum but still undecided. Can anyone provide me with some facts of the above 4 when used on regular basis.

M66 and D151 is what i can think off. Search through the site and you'll see alot of reviews on both them.

Pick up some M2064, it's our M20 Polymer Sealant in a 64 ounce jug. Light cleaning action, leaves a nice looking, slick, long lasting finish. Great for a maintenance wax plus wipe off is a breaze...

Are you looking for a mild product, or a cleaner/wax to speed up your process? Or both?

        The cleaner/Waxes (ColorX, M6, M66, D151) are different from the cleaner/polishes (#9, #82, #80).

M6 would replace the consumer Cleaner Wax most closely.

Thanks for all your speedy response. Fyi, i an least considering d151 because someone from meguiars singapore (hypercoat) is telling that its use for reconditioned cars & the cut is 2 strong, as my civic is quite new (6months only with protection from day 1).

M66 works just like ColorX, but Mike's suggestion of M20 makes more sense as a monthly maintenace product.

& yes! I'm looking for a mild cleaning product for regular usage & maintaining, after my total correction step with m80, as i'll be removing old wax regularly & applying new wax/sealant. So tis product does not necessary have wax, as i'll be using m21 &/or m26, after cleaning the surface of contaminations & old wax.

                  Re: ColorX/Cleaner Wax Replacement

I'm actually leaning towards m09,m82 or m06, as these 3 have lower cut than m80. But only 1 cut lower, & thats causing me alot of headaches, as i'm unsure whether should i go for something which has a cut of scale 3, when i only need 2 do surface cleaning. Just wish meg has tis product which has cut of 1/2, good chemical cleaning power & their TSO (LOVE m80 for tis). Fyi, my side is dark colored (sparkle grey).

Haven't use m20 but has read that its 2 mild for surface cleaning. Sorry for d trouble but been in asian countries whereby humid is high & acid raining thru out the year is causing alot of trouble. Only good thing is that it does not snow or has winter reason here.

Thanks Rasky for your advice. Just wondering, have u used m66 with da machine on honda soft cc b4? Does it require another step b4 lsp as the cut is also scale 4? What type of pads?

I like using M66 on my car when it needs a light polish. With a finishing pad on the DA, it is actually pretty mild. If you like ColorX now, and just want a larger size, I'd go with M66.

I have a '08 Acura TSX and M66 works perfect with my PC. Just use a finishing pad.

Thanks Rasky. What about megs TSO? Does m66 has it? Or do i need 2 follow up with m07 or dc2 b4 lsp? Has u tried m9 or m82 with honda? Is d cut 2 high for regular use? & whats the diff btw tis 2 in terms of results & looks?

If I were you, I'd get the M20, as Mike P. has suggested, and use that as your regular wax/sealant. It has mild cleaning agents, plus it is reputed to be one of the more durable of Meguiar's waxes (see Kevin Brown's comments). You have a new Honda with soft paint. You do not need a wax with more cutting action. When you need to remove swirls and do paint correction, you can then turn to your M80. Just my opinion, which ain't worth anything.
Swirls hide in the black molecular depths, only waiting for the right time to emerge and destroy your sanity.

Is m9 or m82 too much for honda soft cc? What about diff in results & looks btw these 2 products? Has anybody tried a comparison or any links?
